Bexleyheath Secondary School for Girls, Bexleyheath, 1938
This view looks north from the roof of the Regal Cinema (now redeveloped as an Asda supermarket) towards Bexleyheath Secondary School for Girls.
The provision of the school was one aspect of public service that kept pace with housing development in the area.
The Bexleyheath School for Girls in Belvedere Road opened in 1934. It merged with the adjacent central school (for boys) in 1968 to become Bexleyheath School.
On the left of the photo is Bexley Cemetery.
