Jones Houses, Selwyn Crescent, Welling, 2002
Not all the houses on the Danson Estate were intended for the well to do middle-class commuters.
Those with more modest means could buy homes built by firms such as T. H. Jones with the aid of a government subsidy.
The plain exteriors were individualised by the use of different coloured tiles and rendering.
The original plans did not include a garage, but this omission was corrected in the course of the 1930s and 1940s by the upwardly mobile owners.
