Welling Library, Welling, 1951
Welling Library opened in 1937. It had shelving for ten thousand books, a reference library, children's library, public conveniences and facilities for paying rates and electricity bills owed to the council.
Built of brick on concrete foundations, the library has a flat asphalt roof and a ferro-concrete roof light.
The interiors of the library were originally panelled in light oak.
The library replaced an earlier building opened in 1931, which in turn was a successor to the first library, established in 1909.
